We have two great events coming up on our calendar, and I wanted to give them a shout-out here, just to boost the signal.

Many of us are already in preparation for the Iron Gate Exhibition (A.K.A. IGX) in New Hampshire in two weeks’s time. (For those who aren’t: it’s not too late to join us!)

But after that there is another really fun event coming up in our area.

At the start of November, our sibling-club Per La Vita (in Milford) is hosting an open sparring day. The last few times they’ve hosted this, it has been a lot of fun (and quickly sold out!)

This time is a bit different, and promises to be bigger and better, since they have hired a larger venue for the day. This means more room for sparring, informal classes, and fighting games! And it also means more people can come, which is great.

It’s a great event for experienced fencers, but it’s also a really welcoming enent for people who have never been to a HEMA event before, outside our club. So do consider putting it in your calendar! It’s close, cheap, and fun. (And you won’t be alone; I’m sure we’ll have a good New Haven crew there to keep you company)
